In my opinion, when a vendor is looking at the event as a whole (rather than just his or her part in it) and does whatever is needed to do to make the day special, that's the type of person you want working at your next function. Someone who will go above and beyond the call of duty (even if you, the customer, never find out about it).
I will list vendors here that I feel are top notch in everything they do (from their professionalism, demeanor, appearance, and work ethic) here on this page. Just so you know, I don't charge for them to be listed here (nor do I require a reciprocal link on their web site) and I will only list a vendor that I have worked with personally.
Please let these vendors know that Tracewell Entertainment sent you if you decide to call them to get more info and especially if you hire them for your next event!

The Cake Artist
Donna Imsand
(530) 477-0784 |
I first met Donna at a bridal fair in February 2006. I was lucky enough (or not, depending on how you look at it) to have my table set up between hers and Drooling Dog Bar-BQ's table. The entire day I had to fight off Donna's super nice staff trying to get me to try the plethora of cake samples they were handing out to prospective brides.
I finally gave in and boy am I glad I did. The first thing you'll notice about Donna's cakes are that they are gorgeous, and believe me, they are just as tasty as they are beautiful. I've actually performed at many weddings that Donna has made the cakes (although I've only seen her set up the cake and haven't gotten a chance to talk with her) and at each one I heard the wedding guests rave about her cakes. She's very pro and I highly recommend you call her for your most important cake.

Drooling Dog Bar-BQ
Doug & Linda
(530) 346-8893
Web Site |
I've had the pleasure of sampling the fixings from Drooling Dog Bar-BQ twice now and I look forward to the next time. I've met and worked with Doug & Linda both and found them to be both genuine and professional. At a recent wedding that we both worked at, I overheard some guests saying that they weren't too sure about a Bar-BQ dinner for a wedding at first, but after eating their meal, they said that it was the best dinner they'd had at a wedding - ever. You can't really get much better than that for a testimonial. Drooling Dog Bar-BQ caters for every type of event, and they even have a restaurant over in Colfax! Look them up and let them know I sent you.

Web Site |
Since doing my first wedding with Linda, we have forged a great working relationship and friendship. She's a total professional and cares deeply for her brides and grooms. She goes WAY above and beyond for each and every one of them - most of the time, the brides and grooms have no idea all that she does behind the scenes to make their day go perfectly.
Linda and her hand picked staff are a dynamite addition to any wedding - large or small.

Michaela Rodgers
Web Site |
I met Michaela almost by accident. She was visiting the Miner's Foundry to investigate the facility for a client and she just happened to visit on a day when there was a wedding fair going on there. She and I spoke and she hired me for her customer's wedding.
It was very obvious to me that she was on top of everything with that wedding. From the ceremony site (several miles away from the reception site) to the reception and dinner, she was involved in every aspect. I enjoyed working with her.

I first performed a wedding ceremony and reception at the Alta Sierra Country Club in June 2006 and found it to be a great place to have a wedding or any other event where you require a professional staff and location. Franca was very nice and kept the day running smoothly and on time and her staff was very nice and professional. The fact that it's located about a mile from my house and I was home 45 minutes after the reception was a huge plus, too.

Located directly on the California Delta, this place is very luxurious. If you are looking to have an elegant wedding and reception in a ballroom atmosphere, this is the place. What a great and unique place. The Miner's Foundry is a non-profit facility that has a lot of history and a tons of culture. The rustic feel (it was once a working mine) makes it an ideal place to have a wedding reception or party and the staff is very accommodating. I recommend visiting the center and seeing if it's right for your next event.

This winery is pretty new to the wedding industry around here, but all I have to say is - WOW. From the landscaping to the scenic views to the facilities, this place is destined to become a hot spot for weddings in the foothills.
The attention to detail is wonderful and they are totally set up for ceremonies and receptions. Be sure to check them out - at the very least for the wine tasting and scenery! Tell them I sent you - the owners are really nice people. |
Stover Oaks

Placerville, CA
(530) 626-WINE (9463)
Web Site |
I found Stover Oaks Vineyard & Winery to be a very pleasant place to hold a small to medium sized wedding & reception — or any other outdoor event. The staff was great, the surroundings were beautiful, and even on a hot day, the reception area has plenty of shade from giant oak trees. The grounds have a nice gazeebo, waterfall, pond, and an outdoor bar for serving drinks and/or food.
If you are looking for a nice outdoor setting, make sure you visit Stover Oaks.

That experience coupled with the beautiful modern facility they have to work in creates a fantastic venue...especially for weddings. I highly recommend that you visit them before you make your decision on where to hold your wedding reception or event. |

I've worked with Chris twice now (as of July 2006) and thoroughly enjoyed both events (which happened to be weddings). I highly recommend Chris for any event that requires a professional photographer.

Sharpe Photographers
(916) 772-3934
Web Site |
I worked with one of Sharpe's photographers and found him to be very professional and responsible. We found ourselves discussing the stories we both hear all the time about "cheap" DJs and photographers that end up messing up a wedding and/or ceremony because of lack of experience or professionalism. We were very much on the same page when it comes to making sure that the wedding and reception go smoothly for the bride and groom.
